Why Host a Food Drive?

College students shouldn’t have to choose between buying groceries and paying for textbooks. Food drives help stock our pantries with the essential items that students need to thrive—so they can stay focused on achieving their academic dreams.

Organizing a food drive is a powerful way to help address food insecurity on college campuses and reduce food waste.

Student LunchBox makes it easy for you to get involved, whether you're part of a student group, faculty, a company or an individual passionate about making a difference.

By hosting a food drive, you’re contributing to a healthier, stronger college community where students can focus on their education, not their next meal.

How it works?

Step 1: Let's connect - Contact us to let us know you are interested.

Step 2: Spread the word - Engage your network! Social media, posters, and word of mouth go a long way to collect supplies.

Step 3: Collect & donate - After the food drive, you may bring the items to our warehouse or schedule a pick-up.

What to donate?

We accept a variety of shelf-stable and perishable items that will directly benefit students in need, including, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, and snacks. Please check our donation guidelines below for a complete list of items.
